Florida’s Adventure Coast’s Scalloping Season runs from July 1 to September 24, and our water charters and boat captains can help you bag the fun in the area’s best scalloping spots.

Experience the thrill of gliding over the water on an airboat and explore the marshes and wetlands of Weeki Wachee and Hernando Beach. Explore the Nature Coast Botanical Gardens
Enjoy the beauty and serenity that comes with a walk in the garden. Considered a ‘best kept secret’ on Florida’s Adventure Coast, this lush 3.5-acre garden offers 22 themed garden areas including an Asian Tea Garden, Rose Garden, Memorial Garden, and a Butterfly Garden. Open seven days a week from dawn to dusk, the gardens are free, although donations are always appreciated.
Rev into Adventure at Croom Motorcycle Area
If you’re into off-road riding, you’ll love Croom Motorcycle Area, where you can ride dirt bikes or four-wheelers on over 2,600 acres. The trails offer something for every rider in the family, including a training area and a young rider area. Don’t have an ATV? Find local rentals who will bring the vehicles to you at the park.
Step back in time at the Richloam General Store
Visitors at the Richloam General Store are transported back in time, where you can shop like it’s 1928! Jams and jellies, sauces, local honey, salt-cured meat, and jars of candy all offer up a taste of life in the past. Children will also love the large selection of ‘old-timey’ toys, the wall of sodas, and the small ice cream parlor. The front porch has several rocking chairs where you can sit and enjoy the peace and quiet of the surrounding forest, enjoy an ice-cream cone, or even a homemade root beer.

For a thrilling adventure set in a beautiful forest, visit FLG X Adventure Course where you can challenge yourself on a variety of obstacles and zip lines. There are courses for different skill levels and ages, including a ‘Little Ninja’ course for small children as young as five. Kids age 9 and up can enjoy a high wire adventure, with obstacles like rope swings, scrambling walls, hanging nets, wobbly bridges, and other surprises!
Enjoy “old Florida” fun at Boyett’s Grove Citrus Attraction
Once billed as a citrus attraction, Boyette’s Grove is much more. Upon entering, you find yourself in a true old-Floridana-style gift shop, filled with an assortment of kitschy souvenirs including shark teeth, dinosaur fossils, and shell mobiles. The roadside attraction features a small zoo, a dinosaur cave, and a mini-golf course. Visitors can also cool off with up to 24 flavors in Boyett’s old-fashioned ice-cream parlor.
Race away at Adventure Coast Fun Park
A short drive from Weeki Wachee Springs, Adventure Coast Fun Park offers exciting fun for the young and the young at heart. Enjoy go-kart racing on a one-thousand-foot track, as well as batting cages, arcade games, a laser maze, gemstone mining, and mini golf.
