Florida’s Adventure Coast Visitors Bureau Announces the Unveiling of Destination Mermaids – The Tail Trail, on October 13, 2022
Brooksville, Florida: Florida’s Adventure Coast Visitors Bureau is thrilled to announce the unveiling of Destination Mermaids – The Tail Trail, created in conjunction with the Hernando County Fine Arts Council, Brooksville Main Street, and dozens of artists from the area.
The TDC is delighted to announce that the grant funding budget has been doubled for this year. “We’re hoping to encourage the development of new events in the community, as well as help existing events to grow and expand,” noted Roger King, chairman of the TDC and owner of The Dolan House B&B in Brooksville.
The primary purpose of the Hernando County Local Special Event Marketing Grant Funding Program is to provide funding to local organizations for the marketing of special events that promote Hernando County as a tourist destination. Funds received must be used for expenditures associated with marketing and promoting the event to visitors and guests outside of Hernando County. The program is administered through the Hernando County Tourist Development Council (HCTDC) and Florida’s Adventure Coast Visitors Bureau.
Applicants are required to provide a completed application with a detailed marketing plan. “It’s easier than ever to apply for a Tourism Marketing Grant,” noted Tammy Heon, Manager of Tourism Development. “We’ve really simplified the application process with an online application and the elimination of oral presentations. A great idea with a solid marketing plan is all it takes.” For those new to the process, Grant Funding Training will be offered on Friday, August 11th at 10 AM and again at 3 PM at the Brooksville Welcome Center. For more information, contact the Visitors Bureau at 352.754.4405.
All forms must be completed and submitted to the Visitors Bureau in advance of the HCTDC Meeting where presentations will be heard. Applications for grants for the FY 2023-2024 year must be received NO LATER than Friday, September 8, 2023. Applications will be reviewed by the TDC at the September TDC Meeting and funding recommendations forwarded to the BOCC for review and approval in October. All grant recipients will be notified by October 27, 2023.
