A Spring Migration Hotspot

Florida’s Adventure Coast is a critical stopover habitat for birds completing long-distance journeys. After crossing open water and traveling hundreds, or even thousands of miles, migratory birds rely on this region’s hardwood hammocks, pine flatwoods, spring-fed rivers, coastal wetlands and marshes.

These important habitats provide food, shelter, and recovery time before birds continue north to their breeding grounds. Spring migration also coincides with breeding plumage, making this an even better season for colorful sightings.
