Take a fin-tastic road trip to explore The Mermaid Tale Trail! Consisting of 27 life-sized mermaid statues, The Mermaid Tale Trail is located throughout all of Hernando County. Mermaid statues  Parks and streets in Brooksville, Hernando Beach, and Spring Hill from Shoal Line Boulevard to Spring Hill Drive. Beat the heat with Summer Scalloping. It’s an easy way to stay cool while diving for your fresh seafood dinner. Scallop season runs from July 1 – September 24, and requires little in the way of gear or expertise. Many of our boat captains offer scalloping charters and will provide everything you need for a fantastic day on the water.

Florida’s Adventure Coast is home to nearly 250,000 acres of seagrass beds that provide food and shelter to a variety of fish, scallops, and other marine life, making it a popular fishing destination for anglers of all ages and experience levels. Although the pristine waters of the Weeki Wachee River are an obvious draw, our coastal paddling offers stunning views and a peaceful way to experience Florida’s natural coastline. The Bayport-Linda Pederson Paddling Trail is a 3.4-mile roundtrip journey through the natural beauty of our undeveloped coastline.

If you’d like a little more speed more speed and a little less effort, book yourself an airboat tour and soar effortlessly over the water while enjoying the spectacular views of the Gulf of Mexico. Captain Oz with Light Lines and Good Times will also whisk you and your friends to the best fishing holes via airboat, so you can catch that trophy fish you’ve been dreaming about.

Load up your bicycles and explore some of the best biking trails in the state. Regardless of your level of expertise, Florida’s Adventure Coast offers paved trails that are safe and scenic. If you’re looking for a smooth ride, the Good Neighbor, the Suncoast Trail and Withlacoochee State Trail each offer miles of wide, motor-free cycling. If you prefer a more adventurous ride, dirt and gravel trails set deep within forests and preserves are also plentiful. Nestled within the Withlacoochee State Forest is one of the most extensive and highest elevation, off-road trail systems in the region, with over 50 miles of single-track trails featuring natural limestone pits and rolling terrain, all lovingly maintained by SWAMP Mountain Bike Club volunteers.
