Calliope - Florida Mermaid Trail
Calliope came from a long line of seaweed farmers. The first week of harvest was always her favorite week of the year. Seeing the ripe fields, with the seaweed waving at her, brought such a feeling of satisfaction. The long harvesting days were finished with a banquet each night that brought all her family together. Her grandmother would then tell stories, and Calliope always listened intently so she would not forget even the smallest detail. Someday it would be her job to share these stories and she wanted to do it well. She even hoped to be able to put these stories into a book. But did people even read anymore? She found a cute building with a tiny lending library and decided to sit and watch it people picked up the books.
