*** Updated review - 2026.09.12 *** This time we attended as a party of six, celebrating a birthday for my mother. Both my parents have limited mobility, and as before, the hostess working the entrance graciously took their walkers and kept them up front after seating us. This may seem like a small thing, but it is details like this that get noticed. On this visit, we were seated in Casey's section, and she was an absolute champion. Our party was quite disorganized and seemingly took forever to decide what we wanted for appetizers and meals. So that she didn't have to keep interrupting us to check if we were ready, Casey devised a system where we could signal to her when we were ready. Full disclosure, I did introduce myself to the manager, Tawny, who had responded so courteously to an earlier (Google) review. We started with appetizers of Crispy Calamari and Imperial Dip for the table. While most serve calamari with a marinara type sauce, Bonefish serves theirs with a unique mix of their bang-bang sauce and something else. This provides a nice deviation from your normal calamari flavor profile. The Imperial Dip consists of tortilla chips served with a queso dip, with a blend of seafood mixed in. The dip had quite a bit of seafood mixed in and was a popular choice at the table. For our meals, we had: - One: Unicorn fish and shrimp, with sides of broccoli and coleslaw. the party had never had unicorn fish before so wanted to give it a try. It turned out to be a nice flaky whitefish, somewhat thin, similar to flounder. Not fishy at all, which is the way we like it. Both the fish and shrimp were brushed with a citrus herb marinade and seasoned. The seasoning was strong and may be too salty for some palates. The broccoli was cooked this time and well-seasoned. The coleslaw was really very good, not over-mayonnaised like some places make it. - Two: Swordfish with pumpkin ravioli, with side of Kung Pao brussels sprouts. Both of these were remarked to be "very good." - Three: Scallops and Shrimp, with sides of bacon macaroni and cheese and asparagus. The scallops and shrimp were said to be "delicious", as were the sides. The bacon macaroni and cheese needs to be singled out here for the sheer size of the side order. It could easily be a meal on its own. Holy cow! - Four: Scallops and shrimp scampi pasta. Another large portioned meal with quite a bit of scallops and shrimp included. Party was very happy with his choice, declaring it to be "great." - Five: Lily's chicken with roasted potatoes and spinach. This party enjoyed their dish as well but did not offer any noteworthy feedback. - Six: Bourbon salmon with sides of roasted potatoes and asparagus. Another "delicious" meal for this party. As we were here to celebrate a birthday, desserts were ordered for sharing. First, there was a cheesecake that arrived with a birthday candle and a handwritten card from Casey. Another delightful little detail that was very appreciated. The second dessert was the bourbon brownie, which wound up being taken home in its entirety. It wasn't even touched at the table. We were all too full. With the difficulties of my parents limited mobility, they do not get out as often as maybe they would like, so when they do I hope they can enjoy themselves. This was a great visit to Bonefish Grill in Brooksville, made special by the efforts of Tawny and Casey. I am so very thankful for everything they did to make my mother's birthday special and memorable. Thank you both, sincerely. *** Previous review, edited for character limit *** Even though it is a chain restaurant, I still kind of consider Bonefish Grill a bit more upscale establishment (with pricing to match) so have an expectation for a little bit more elevated experience. It was here where this particular visit to Bonefish Grill fell short for me. The food was generally very good (despite the uncooked broccoli, which really could have just been a wrong assumption by the guest) but the service was just a little off.

This was our third time here. Last time for dinner, then lunch, now dinner again. The food and service is still great both. Lunch items are limited but good. If you're looking for a really good meal, go to Bonefish Grill!

Bonefish Grill on Cortez Boulevard delivers a genuinely mixed experience, landing somewhere between reliable neighborhood favorite and frustratingly uneven. The Highs: The signature Bang Bang Shrimp remains a standout for a reason, offering that perfect crunch and sweet-spicy kick. When the kitchen hits its mark, the wood-grilled fish—like Chilean Sea Bass or Atlantic Salmon—is flaky, well-seasoned, and expertly cooked over the oak grill. The bar staff is also welcoming, making the lively bar area a great spot for a quick drink and savory bite. The Lows: Consistency is a recurring hurdle. Diners frequently report that side dishes like jasmine rice or asparagus arrive lukewarm, and overcooked proteins occasionally slip past quality control on busier weekend nights. Service pace can swing wildly from attentive to inattentive depending on the hour, and portion sizes often feel a bit modest relative to the bill. It is a solid option if you stick to the proven classics like the shareable appetizers and grilled specials, but high expectations for a polished dining room can occasionally leave you wanting more for the price.
