Stayed at crooked river tent only campground. For whatever reason Google maps does not show this campground. It is apart of silver lake along with cypress glen. It was a nice park. Right next to the river, with hiking trails close by. Some sites were close together but my site, 65, was private and large. All sites had access to water. No electricity. Bathhouse was what you would expect from a campground. The interstate noise was constant all night long though.
Jan 8, 2026 · Google ReviewWe really enjoyed our time at this hidden jem. I have been going there sense I was a newly minted teenager in 1989. Take some time to hike the trails and enjoy nature. Remember if you bring to with you take it with you. We did run into so litter along the way that we policed up and took out with us. Sorry to how ever had to empty those trashcans.
Feb 2, 2026 · Google ReviewSilver Lake Campground is beautiful. I have stayed in the tent camping section - Crooked River - multiple times. The campsites are all nice, the bathhouse has always been clean and stocked with toilet paper and paper towels. There is fresh pavement throughout the park now. The area up near Silver Lake itself has covered picnic tables, a boat ramp, and a nice covered pavilion. The RV campers are significantly closer to I75 and say the highway noise is quite loud at night, but I haven't experienced that. I love camping and kayaking here. 💕
Feb 5, 2024 · Google ReviewWe hiked for the day... if we ever camp here, we will avoid the loop by the Interstate! Nice trails, except for one area that was blocked by fallen debris... managed to get through it, though. Super nice pavilion with compost toilets close by (might scare little ones).
May 21, 2023 · Google ReviewThe park puts you in a good location for hiking trails. Especially if you do the State Forest Trailwalker program, it is a great location. With the Withlacoochee Forest so spread out, this is close (closer driving) to the middle of most of the good trails. The highway is close by. Was a little too loud for me. However, if you are a loud camper, this place would be a great pick because the highway will drawn out your noise to other campsites.
