Yara - Florida Mermaid Trail
SECRET MERMAIDS along the Florida Mermaid Trail - They may be off the grid, but they’ll be thrilled to see you! If you ask anyone in the ocean who knows Yara to describe her in one word, they would all say "Dancer." Whether on a stage, in her kitchen cooking dinner, or playing tag with a manatee, Yara made every movement look like a dance. That was what she missed most about the ocean. It was so much more difficult to move smoothly on land, though flying birds seemed to most closely mirror the freedom she felt in the water. As she explored downtown, she saw several women walking with the most grace she'd seen on land. They walked into a building and she followed them and peeked in the window. Inside she saw many graceful people, seemingly synchronized in their movements. Fascinated, she decided she needed to learn the dancelike movements of the humans and she sat on the porch to get a good view of their comings and goings.
