Busy but private if that makes sense! Park lot was full but lots of space between people. Didn’t experience the dog poo issue some reviewers posted on this 2026 New Years Day bike ride. I enjoyed lunch by the water and some off-road style bike riding around the lakes. Some areas are sandy but the majority are hard packed or limestone so my midrange street-mountain bike was fine. There is a bathroom and porta-john at the end of the asphalt trail maybe a 2 miles from the parking lot. Great place, I’m traveling but will be back to check it out.
Jan 1, 2026 · Google ReviewConvenient walking path located just off of US 19 (behind Sweet Frog, near the county dump). This is an older paved road that was previously used for mining purposes. There are also dirt walking paths. Bring your own water for yourself and your pets. This path is shared with walkers, pets on leashes, bicycles, and E bikes. Bring doggy bags to pick up after your pet. There is a dumpster about 1.4 miles on the path which is also where the pavement road ends and dirt trails continue.
Feb 20, 2026 · Google ReviewWent in the evening when it wasn't so hot. The large open trails had a great breeze to make the hike enjoyable. Kids enjoyed seeing the deer bound out of a tall clump of close by reeds.
Jun 24, 2026 · Google ReviewLots of trails here. I went with Hernando Walking Group. Most of the trails are brush/ground. There is a portion I believe about 2.5 miles that is kinda paved.
Jan 15, 2026 · Google ReviewSpent an hour here, just walking down the main paved trial, to where a tiny open air restroom is. We didn't take any side trails but think we will next time ! The lakes down towards the 🚻 are beautiful. Saw a deer and a lot of birds. Def a nice place to walk if the weather is nice. If it's an insane hot day, probably isn't.
