Taco Tuesday brought me to Chulas Mexican Grill in search of three crunchy tacos and a little happiness. I ordered one beef, one chicken, and one pork taco. Pretty standard stuff—lettuce, tomato, and cheese. Wanting to live a little dangerously, I asked if I could add some raw onions. That's when I learned that a sprinkle of onions would cost me an additional $2. Now, I don't know what the current onion market is doing, but I politely declined. For $2, I can buy an entire onion at the grocery store and garnish enough tacos to get me through several Taco Tuesdays. I took my order home, and presentation-wise, everything looked fresh and appetizing. The beef taco was just okay for me. The meat was a little mushy and seemed like it may have spent a long shift hanging out in a warming pan. The chicken taco was better—I could tell it was real shredded chicken—but it still felt like it was waiting for a little more seasoning to show up to the party. The pork taco, however, saved the day. It had good flavor, tasted fresh, and was easily my favorite of the three. As for the restaurant itself, it was clean, colorful, and full of festive decorations. It was pretty quiet when I stopped in, but it was the middle of a Tuesday afternoon, so that's hardly surprising. The staff was also very friendly and polite, which I always appreciate. Overall, not a bad lunch stop. I enjoyed the pork taco, liked the atmosphere, and had a pleasant experience with the staff. I'm still recovering from the emotional damage of the $2 onion surcharge, but time heals all wounds.
Jun 16, 2026 · Google ReviewSecond time having food from Chulas. It’s okay. Food was well-presented. I found most of the food (sadly) bland, the rice was quite dry, and the chips & salsa were pretty unimpressive. Chips and salsa portion was minimal. Maybe it was just what I picked for dinner, who knows? There may be much better dishes to choose from that have more flavor and aren’t as dry. I really want to like this place, but this twice I’ve had the food and it’s just not as I’ve had from other places. Fried ice cream was pretty good! Great presentation! I found parking was a hassle as the lot is shared with other businesses and a gas stations. The service was good, and the place seemed quite busy and lively. There is more space to sit outside, so I would expect seating is very limited in the summer when it’s insanely hot outside.
Feb 13, 2026 · Google ReviewWe come here every so often, and every time we do the food, staff, and atmosphere is always amazing. The staff is always friendly, always smiling, very attentive and gives you a feeling like you're family. The food is always, always, hot and well, amazing! The restaurant is extremely clean 👌 I have never had the same food twice and order something new, every thing I have ever gotten is really good. Stop by, grab a margarita, and soak in all the love. You won't be disappointed, promise.
Apr 12, 2026 · Google ReviewThe chicken fajitas were good. Nice pieces of chicken and the peppers and onion was cooked well. Their cheese enchiladas were nicely filled. Did not care for the taste of the rice.
