Annutteliga Hammock Trailhead
This trailhead offers access to approximately 8 miles of multiuse trails for hiking and horseback riding. The Annutteliga Hammock is an important area for groundwater recharge into Florida's primary drinking water source, the Floridan aquifer system. Situated in the Brooksville Ridge, which runs from northern Citrus County down into central Pasco County, the lands are slightly higher in elevation than the adjacent coastal or central portions of the state. The area within the Brooksville Ridge typically has well-drained soils, karst limerock outcroppings and is dominated by sandhills, upland hardwood forests and scrub communities. Property links with the Chassahowitzka Wildlife Management Area, which is a prime Florida black bear habitat area.

JustHavinFunThis is a beautiful and underused park. It's a beautiful, peaceful place for a hike in the forest. It's usually not busy here, so it's a good park to enjoy solitude in nature. The trails are mostly easy with some elevation change and, for the most part, well marked. There are huge old oak trees and plenty of palms, too. Some areas of the park have a bit of a Jurassic park feel to it. The walk-in primitive camp sites I saw had fire rings and picnic tables. ↪️ Be mindful of ticks. 😬

Katherine ToweryOk so yes this area is beautiful, I will give it that but if it wasnt for my hiking/hunting experience it could have gone bad. This is NOT kept up at all and is hardly if ever used. The trail markings were hard to find and this area is full of hogs that can become extremely aggressive. One of which I came up within 20 ft of which again i was well aware due to hunting. It is nice but i suggest not going it alone , I brought my large dog with me .

Donald StonerGreat hike with my dog, didn't see another person at all. The yellow trail is constantly changing elevation and surroundings , there is a few roots and rocks to watch out for along the way but overall it's a fairly easy path to follow. The yellow blazes looked freshly painted. Like the other reviews I did find ticks but was not bothered by any other bugs. It's almost all shaded and didn't get hot

Chuck OdomGrat trail, challenging elevations, the only downside is the amount of ticks on the trail! I must have pulled off over 20 ticks, I will probably wait till fall and try to hike it again.

JHBBeautiful wild terrain trails. Very primitive. Short road ok going in but can get really rough and a car could get stuck. I wouldn't attempt without a truck. Parking area is little and cramped. Can fit probably 6-8 vehicles? There's a 2 mile loop and 4 mile loop. Primitive camp site. Bring your tick/mosquito spray. Especially for the ticks. Even with rigorous spraying we still manage to go home with multiple ticks. Some so small you can barely see them. I've seen wildlife including deer, hogs, snakes, foxes, turkeys and other birds. **Also be careful not to cross into someone's private property. Many properties surround this area and some don't have fencing and sometimes it's easy to miss the signage (if any). Remember this is in the country and owners are armed and don't take kindly to trespassers... even if it's by accident.** This is in a hunting area so you might want to be aware of what time of year you're going. I would say its family friendly if with older and cautious children. No bathrooms. Bring drinks, snacks, compass, phone, wear bright colored clothes and comfy shoes. Easy to lose your bearings.
