⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Easy 5 Stars! If you’re anywhere near Brooksville and love great barbecue, Deep South Family Bar-B-Que needs to be on your list. From the moment we pulled in, you could tell this place was something special. The rustic atmosphere, giant smoker out front, covered outdoor seating, swings for the kids, fire pit, unique décor, and relaxed old-Florida feel make it a destination—not just another place to eat. It’s the kind of spot where you can kick back, enjoy great food, and spend time with family and friends. The staff was absolutely outstanding. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel like family from the moment we walked in until we left. Customer service like this is becoming harder to find, and they absolutely nailed it. Now for the food… WOW! Everything came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The barbecue was tender with an incredible smoky flavor, the burger was cooked perfectly, the wings were delicious, the fries were crispy, and the mac and cheese was rich and creamy. One surprise that completely won us over was the fried biscuits. We’d never had them before, and they were absolutely amazing! If you’ve never tried them, do yourself a favor and order some. The sweet tea was spot on, exactly how good Southern sweet tea should taste, and the spicy barbecue sauce was incredible. It had just the right amount of heat while still letting that rich barbecue flavor shine through. And to top it all off, the homemade banana pudding was the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal. You can tell this family-owned restaurant takes pride in everything they do—from the food to the atmosphere to the way they treat their customers. Places like this are becoming harder to find, and it’s refreshing to support a local business that truly gets it. We’ll definitely be back, and I’ll be recommending Deep South Family Bar-B-Que to everyone I know. Five stars all day long! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Bbq and burger were amazing. Though the fried. Green tomatoes were too thin and the bread pudding really grainy. Despite this the other items we had were absolutely delicious. My son and I loved the Mac and cheeee and especially the warm and inviting service.

Great food, amazing flavors, fried green tomatoes, okra, bacon wrap tots were tha bomb, and absolutely deliciously amazing fried biscuits. Great short ribs, pulled pork, brisket. Amazing mac and cheese, decent sweet potato casserole, a little let down on the deep fried "award winning" peach pie, outside of crust was good, inside was a bit slimy, kinda uncooked maybe and the peachies were canned and not great, but everything else was amazing.

★★★★★ I came to Deep South Family BBQ for a simple to-go brisket order. What I got instead was a full-length, interactive experience in How To Lose Track Of A Brisket. Timeline of events: • Waited ~45 minutes. • Asked about my order. Plot twist: they realized they forgot to make it. • “5 more minutes.” (Classic.) • 15 minutes later: “Brisket just came out of the oven… it needs to rest another 10 minutes.” At that point I’d officially been sitting there for an hour, so I canceled and they refunded me $52. Credit where it’s due: they did apologize and refund without a fight. The funniest part? Over the restroom there’s a sign that says, “Flush twice, it’s a long way to Washington, D.C..” Which is hilarious coming from a place that couldn’t manage a brisket ticket in a 10x10 kitchen… but is somehow offering commentary on how the government runs the nation. Respectfully: maybe start by running the order screen. Anyway—shoutout to them for inspiring tonight’s actual dinner: hot honey garlic ginger sockeye salmon + Napa cabbage salad (made at home, by me, in 12 mins). 😄 5 star because I know they should have a good food and good people working there. They are young and still learning for sure. I love to come back when you think the brisket is ready, fresh and juicy and finally give it a try.

Must try items: Deep fried pies (all of them, especially the seasonal specials) BBQ EGG ROLLS or BURRITOS when on special Half chickens Pulled pork sandwich, crispy fries, and a variety of sauces. Did I mention WINGS?! That Korean BBQ is my fave. And the lemon pepper made with actual lemon juice. Fried biscuits and the Florida Sampler 🤤
