Join us October 6–8, 2026 for an engaging 3‑day Environmental Interpretation course at the UF/IFAS Extension Hernando County Office and local sites across Hernando County! 🌿

This hands‑on course explores how to effectively connect people to natural and cultural resources through interpretive presentations, guided programs, and displays. Participants will learn from expert instructor Dr. Brittany Scharf and guest speakers while developing their own interpretive skills.

Highlights include interactive classroom sessions, practical activities, and exciting field experiences. On Day 2, enjoy a clear kayaking tour on the Weeki Wachee and Mud River, where you’ll learn about ecosystems and guiding techniques while out on the water. On Day 3, visit Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park to experience interpretive exhibits, live manatee programs, and a guided wildlife walk along scenic boardwalks.

Throughout the workshop, participants will complete hands‑on projects and gain real‑world experience designing interpretive displays and programs. This course is perfect for anyone interested in education, conservation, or sharing Florida’s natural resources with others. 🌎
