Had a great time with my daughter! One thing they don’t tell you is that you start pretty far down the river, so this isn’t for everyone. You’ll be paddling against the current for quite a while to reach the crystal-clear water near the state park boundary. It’s about 4 miles of slow upstream paddling to the park boundary and about 6 miles to the source. The good part is they let you stay on the water until 5 PM, so you can take your time, enjoy the day, and take breaks along the way. On the way back, you can relax and enjoy the current as it carries you downstream through the park area, followed by some additional paddling through the residential area and the channels. We saw two Manatees and plenty of big fish it was beginning of April.
Apr 13, 2026 · Google ReviewI like that you can reserve online and not have to call in to reserve. The staff at the office were very courteous and helpful. The staff at the launch site was also very courteous and helpful. Shawn at the launch site was very nice, he eased us into the water as the ramp has rollers to help with this process and he was ready and waiting upon our return to pull us up onto the ramp. The price you see online is good not for 4hrs but from the time you get there and as long as you bring it back by closing time. 9am - 5pm hrs of operation. We were done after 4hrs of adventure which was plenty long enough as we were getting hungry lol. We only brought water to drink and sun lotion....... sun lotion is highly recommended. My group saw manatee, fish, birds, cool places setup along the route and was very relaxing. I recommend the earlier the better to start as it was mostly just us but by noon it was getting pretty busy on the stream. everyone on the stream was polite and just enjoying
Apr 22, 2026 · Google ReviewHad a great trip with our kids. Saw plenty of manatees.I highly recommend planning with tides in your favor as paddling against the current isn't easy for everyone.
Apr 4, 2026 · Google ReviewProbably the best price and you can stay out all day. Equipment was good. Check in was easy. Employees were nice. But i didnt like paddeling up stream against the current. All kayak canoe places Ive ever used drop off or pick you up and you travel down stream with the flow.
Apr 3, 2026 · Google ReviewWe will not use their services again. Giving 3 stars because the guys launching where really cool . We booked assuming they had a shuttle from the office on Cortez ... they did not so we ended up having to take an uber there to get a post it note w our name on it and then take another uber to the launch place . Kayaks where ok but the single ones where really short ... Also they do not have enough dry-bags. The river was busy at 10 am and getting busier as the day went on ... Beautiful and fun .
