Weeki Wachee Springs State Park
Weeki Wachee Springs State Park combines natural beauty with one of Florida’s most iconic attractions. The park is home to a first-magnitude spring and the world-famous live mermaid shows performed in a submerged 400-seat theater, where performers present underwater productions such as The Little Mermaid.
Visitors can also swim in the clear spring waters at Buccaneer Bay, Florida’s only spring-fed water park, or explore the Weeki Wachee River by kayak, paddleboard, or guided boat cruise.
First opened as a roadside attraction in 1947 and now part of the Florida State Parks system, Weeki Wachee Springs remains a classic Old Florida destination where guests can enjoy the spring, wildlife, and the park’s historic mermaid tradition.

Paddling through the crystal clear water was absolutely beautiful, and I loved seeing fish, birds, and the natural scenery along the river. I felt so connected to nature the entire time i paddled along with the current. Definitely worth visiting if you’re visiting the area.

WanderWithHeatherNCrushSuch a fun clean place to swim and go down the slides. Bring your family, must see the mermaid shows and roam the land. It’s so fun to swim with fish, bring snorkel and snacks. Unfortunately no showers. No use of the lazy river during the week. State park pass gets you in for free.

Sav_cc33Launching and shuttling your kayak is so cheap and easy! The staff are very friendly as well. I wish there was more variety in their gift shop though, I wanted more than a sticker for sure. The springs 2.8 mile downstream ride on my kayak was so peaceful! I got the last 9am slot on a Saturday there was barely anyone there and I was alone for most of the way. I saw a snake, so many birds and fish and the most beautiful water I’ve ever seen. It was refreshing to dip my hands in and coast while watching everything. Definitely will come back again!

Candi HListen you must visit!! So peaceful. Crystal clear water and beautiful greenery. I got to see manatees. Going with the current made my paddling so easy and calm. This spring made it to my list of ‘springs to visit again’. If you decide to go past their shuttle exit, be ready for the crowd of ppl.

Carson S MillerA truly unique experience. Just $13 gets you access to the natural springs and water park, a scenic boat ride on the river, and the one-of-a-kind underwater mermaid show. Get there early on busy days as they close the park once it is full. You can also bring your own cooler, chairs, etc, but be sure to look up the restrictions to avoid getting pulled aside when checking in. Free parking!
