Quirky old Florida hot dog and burger spot heavy on the nostalgia. The burgers are on point and taste like the 1980s in a way I cannot put into words. I had the new york dogs with a steamed bun. I prefer a grilled hot dog but they are put together with love and pride. The cook Chris and the young lady that took my order were very friendly and hospitable. The mens restroom was clean and quite honestly hilarious. The restaurant was also very clean. If you are looking for a quick reasonably priced slice of Americana this is a great spot. Also please try the lemonade it is great!
Apr 10, 2026 · Google ReviewWe visited Coney Island Drive-Inn, January 2026. We arrived close to opening time, so it was quiet when we arrived. Although it didn’t stay that way very long. By the time we left, there were people taking up most inside and outdoor covered tables. So they get a good crowd. Coney Island probably took its name from the famous Coney Island in New York, that in itself, world renown for hot dogs, among other things. So the “World Famous Footlong” moniker is fitting to go with their name. The establishment consists of multiple buildings, a covered outdoor dining section, as well as an outdoor section behind the building. Coney Island is covered with lots of memorabilia and such basically everywhere. A lot of younger folks probably won’t know what they are looking at, when it comes to some things. But they’ll probably realize that it’s old and cool. And the noise level definitely grows with the crowd. The restaurant itself isn’t the cleanest place we’ve ever been. But it wasn’t filthy either. It is probably difficult to keep a place like this extremely sanitized. So just go with it and enjoy the experience. It is fun looking around and having this type of food. Now the food. We didn’t find the food to be all that great. I’m not going to say what we ordered since tastes and opinions do differ drastically. You may find the food different than what we felt. But next time we stop in, we’ll probably try something else on the menu. The food wasn’t terrible. But to us, it definitely didn’t live up to all the hype. Maybe what we didn’t try yet will change our opinion. And your opinion may also be totally different. Either way, it’s worth the time to visit and try out Coney Island Drive-Inn. The memorabilia probably makes it worth the visit. I gave them four stars more for the experience. If we enjoy the food better next time, maybe the rating will change.
Jan 11, 2026 · Google ReviewI've been here at least 10 times (both the Brooksville & Crystal River locations) and I'm finally posting pics! The chill dog w/ onion (plus cole slaw) and the New Yorker are my favorites. Go get yourself some hot dogs and you won't be disappointed. They also have sausage as an option. The staff is friendly, helpful, and makes you feel welcome. The Brooksville location added a kiosk inside the restaurant where you can place your order which is helpful because the line can get long on busy days, but even then, the line moves quickly.
Mar 17, 2026 · Google ReviewStopped by because son-in-law said Elvis ate here and it had a great footlocker chilli cheese dog. He was right and the onion rings, Alligator sausage were also very good. Will return in the future and it has a charm in the Elvis era and way.
Nov 27, 2025 · Google ReviewAn authentic hot dog stand of yesteryear. Just like you went to a hot dog stand 60 years ago. A huge selection of foot longs and they actually fave beer now. Worth going to just for the atmosphere.
