Hernando Sportsman's Club
Located in Brooksville, Florida, within the Chassahowitzka Wildlife Management Area of Hernando County, the Hernando Sportsman's Club provides an opportunity for firearms enthusiasts to enjoy a wide variety of shooting sports activities, competitions, and archery. The Club provides a covered range area for pistol practice at 15-yd and 25-yd increments, and covered ranges for rifle practice at 50-yd, 100-yd, and 200-yd increments, along with trap and skeet fields, and an archery range within its 80-acre outdoors facility and is open to the public. As of January 2020, the Club is 40 years old. We are now the 3rd largest shooting sports facility in Florida that is open to the public.

PAUL E DOBRACKIAfter reading some of the 1 star reviews, I was a little hesitant about going there. I was at an event and decided to go ahead and shoot. It could not have been a more positive experience. I thought all the Range officers were professional and helpful. I saw none of the behavior noted in those reviews. It was a busy day of shooting. The people there covered the entire spectrum is shooters, from novices to expert. My advise would be, take time to read the range rules upon entry, do not rush anything and listen to the range officer commands and always keep the muzzle pointed down range. This was my first time there and will return.

P BNice shooting range, the ROs make the place safe and keep a lot of the people who may not be to familiar with shooting range protocol. Options for 10 - 20 - 50 & 100 yard lanes, for rifle and pistol, shooting stations have casing catchers, ceiling fan and all lanes are covered except for a few of the 10 yard shooting lanes on the far left side. You can buy targets on site, they provide cardboard and staple guns to attach targets to. They allow you to put shooting clays on the sand berms which is great for the kids. They offer club memberships or you can pay per the day so they offer options to fit all shooters. Updated 4/7/18 Competed in my first steel challenge today, the ROs were very friendly and full of advise and the group I was with was full of extremely friendly people who cheer you on. If you have never done a steel challenge match, just give it a try you will be back for more.

jowell hearnMy son and I have come for the machine gun shoots and have found the club to be very safety oriented with many members serving as range officers. We really enjoy the rifle range and skeet well. Although some people do not like the way the firing line is run, their mission is a safe and enjoyable time.
