Weeki Wachee Springs State Park
Weeki Wachee Springs State Park combines natural beauty with one of Florida’s most iconic attractions. The park is home to a first-magnitude spring and the world-famous live mermaid shows performed in a submerged 400-seat theater, where performers present underwater productions such as The Little Mermaid.
Visitors can also swim in the clear spring waters at Buccaneer Bay, Florida’s only spring-fed water park, or explore the Weeki Wachee River by kayak, paddleboard, or guided boat cruise.
First opened as a roadside attraction in 1947 and now part of the Florida State Parks system, Weeki Wachee Springs remains a classic Old Florida destination where guests can enjoy the spring, wildlife, and the park’s historic mermaid tradition.

I've been twice. The first time we tubed the river since all the canoes were rented. The part of the river you tube is very short, but the water is refreshing and clear clear clear. The boat rides were closed due to covid as well as the mermaid show. The second time I was able to see the mermaid show which was really cool 😎. Whatever you do, make sure if you go down the straight drop water slide, you are wearing a full piece with shorts, the force is so great, it will force all of your suit up inside you..... no joke, so just a warning!!!!

Jun 6, 2026 · Google ReviewThe Weeki Wachee River never disappoints. We see plenty of wild life, meet nice people and get our exercise.
Jun 5, 2026 · Google ReviewCool water slides. Water is colder than you'd expect. Be ready for spring water temp vs ocean beaches. Bring your lunch. Coolers allowed. Great kiddie pool for the littles. Update 6/4/26 - kiddie area is closed for renovation and one big water slide now & an enclosed flume slide next to it. Big let down. Basically paid $13 per person to swim in nice clean water.
