Lisa BerryNice easy to moderate trail along the river. Trail is mostly shaded which was a plus. Definitely pet friendly. Make sure you keep an eye out for snakes.

SamOne of my favorite trails in Withlacoochee! A few nice hills, beautiful trees. Good parking and restrooms at the starting point. I did the 7 mile loop with my dog and really enjoyed it.

Stephanie BartonWARNING FOR JUL/AUG: Peak Lone Star tick season (aka Sea tick). We were only able to do 45 minutes out and had to turn around and pulled probably 50 ticks off of us and our dogs. Otherwise great trail. Just pay attention to the time of year you go and be prepared. I wish they had signs up, I don’t have the same issue at Hillsborough River State Park.

Victoria VioletNice, well marked trail. Goes through a cypress swamp, and along the river. Connects up to the camp area if you choose to take the orange trail or you can do the orange and blue to make the shorter loop. Beautiful trees. You can hear the highway along some.of the trail. Also hunting goes on here so you should check before going. They do post the schedule on the board at the trailhead. There's also a couple of bathrooms and a water fountain at the parking area. There are picnic tables and even some grills. The parking lot is also for the withlacoochie state biking trail.

Thomas BowenThis is a nice scenic trail with about 1/2 of the 4.2 mile hike alongside the river. You will see more Cypress trees and knees along this trail then anywhere else. Take note of the railway ties that were taken up from the railway bed probably 50 years ago and used for fence posts. Several large hawks spotted on the highest trees. The entrance to the trail is directly east of the bathroom on the Withlacoochee trail about 100 yards. Note the shot up sign.
