The Withlacoochee State Trail, Suncoast Trail and Good Neighbor Trail are smooth, wide, paved expanses free of motorized vehicles and easily host all manner of bicycle pedal power.
The 46-mile Withlacoochee State Trail is one of the longest paved rail-trails in Florida. With a generally flat terrain and many access points, the trail corridor traverses three counties (Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco), offering an enjoyable, varied journey as it runs through small towns, ranches and six distinct natural communities between Citrus Springs and Dade City.
Officially designated as part of the Florida Greenways and Trail System, this state trail is also designated as a National Recreation Trail. It offers rich opportunities for viewing plants and wildlife and provides access to many outstanding recreational opportunities. The 42-mile Suncoast Trail parallels the Suncoast Parkway, passing through a mix of suburban, agricultural, and natural areas, along with rest areas and interpretive signs that highlight the trail’s significance and the local ecology.
Connecting the Withlacoochee State Trail to Brooksville, the Good Neighbor Trail runs ten miles, through sun-dappled and lush, shaded serene countryside to the Russell Street Park Trailhead. This Pedaller’s Paradise is host to a variety of different bicycle rides sponsored by various cycling groups or shops. Annually, the CroomFest 30/50 Mile MTB Ride, the Hilly Hundred and the Withlacoochee State Trail Ride draw return riders each year, while local shop rides are held regularly.

PLAN YOUR CYCLING ADVENTURE
Whether you rent an e-bike or bring your own bicycle, it’s always best to plan ahead before setting out on your ride. Travelers with an AAA membership can receive bicycle service to all bicycles and tandems, including rental bicycles and trailers pulled by bicycles, if service can be safely delivered using normal servicing equipment.
