Weeki Wachee Springs State Park
Weeki Wachee Springs State Park combines natural beauty with one of Florida’s most iconic attractions. The park is home to a first-magnitude spring and the world-famous live mermaid shows performed in a submerged 400-seat theater, where performers present underwater productions such as The Little Mermaid.
Visitors can also swim in the clear spring waters at Buccaneer Bay, Florida’s only spring-fed water park, or explore the Weeki Wachee River by kayak, paddleboard, or guided boat cruise.
First opened as a roadside attraction in 1947 and now part of the Florida State Parks system, Weeki Wachee Springs remains a classic Old Florida destination where guests can enjoy the spring, wildlife, and the park’s historic mermaid tradition.

We loved it! We rented a cabana it was pretty nice, kept us out of the sun when we needed. The mermaid show was cute but also informative about the story of weeki wachee. The spring is very nice, the kiddie pool are was closed for ongoing renovations but at the entrance of the spring the water is shallow enough toddler could sit/stand and play there. The slides were awesome. We didn’t get to do the lazy river because we had all of our children (4) and the two youngest were too small. There’s a jumping dock for everyone to jump off of. Also a lot of lifeguards which is awesome! Outside of the cabanas there are a lot of chairs and seating some with umbrellas some without. The food is pricey but it was good. The drinks (I had the tigers blood and the cherry limeade, adult beverages) were good. My partner had the blue moons. Again, pricey but we were there for the best time. (On vacation) it was a wonderful time for us all!
Jul 26, 2026 · Google ReviewBeautiful, well-maintained park. We went on a busy Saturday morning to see the mermaid show and the line to get it was pretty long. Bring sunblock and all your usual beach items. The only downside was the boat not working because of the drought, and no Birds of Prey show. Employees seemed happy and they were all very nice.
Jul 3, 2026 · Google ReviewVisiting Weeki Wachee Springs State Park was an amazing and peaceful experience! Paddling through the crystal clear water was absolutely beautiful, and I loved seeing fish, birds, and the natural scenery along the river. I felt so connected to nature the entire time i paddled along with the current. Definitely worth visiting if you’re visiting the area.
May 15, 2026 · Google ReviewWonderful experience! I would definitely recommend getting there early as there was quite a line waiting for them to.open and they will turn you away once the park reaches capacity. There were plenty if chairs for our large group of 9 people. Umbrellas for rent, 2 water slides. The "lazy river" actually takes some effort to navigate and is $10 extra per person. The mermaid show was so much fun! The quintessential summer florida activity!
Jun 19, 2026 · Google ReviewWe had a really great kayaking trip!🛶 It was the first tour of the day, so everything was calm and peaceful, and we had the river all to ourselves. We saw lots of different wildlife and were lucky enough to spot owls five times!🦉 Our guide was fantastic👌always helping us get back on track whenever our kayaking wasn't quite going as planned,🫣 and sharing lots of interesting facts about the local wildlife along the way.🌴🦭🐠🐢 I can highly recommend this experience!
