For no particular reason, it has been many years since I have been to Upper Deck. With a relative visiting and feeling like trying something different, I decided to give it a try again. What a gem, with a lovely view overlooking the river and "beach"! I really enjoyed my dinner here. Feeling a bit adventurous, with neither my relative or I every eating conch, we decided on the appetizer of conch fritters. Reminding me of a combination of hush puppies and crab cakes, these were quite tasty, with or without the included Baja sauce. The portion was generous, and they arrived moist, we'll seasoned, and with noticeable amounts of seafood included in each. I started my meal with a side salad and this was well above my expectations. What a well prepared, presented, and robust garden salad. For dinner, I chose the grouper sandwich with side of fries. The sandwich arrived with a nice sized piece of fish that was well prepared. Veggies on the side included the standard lettuce, onion, pickles, and tomatoes. My relative chose the shrimp tacos as her dinner and enjoyed hers as well. She received three tacos that seemed to have plenty of shrimp on each, and seasoned with the same Baja sauce that was available with the fritters. Note from the pictures that the tacos did arrive with diced tomatoes as well, but she brushed those off before the picture was taken. We both ordered French fries as our side along with the entree and we each received a heaping pile to go with our meal. These were nice and thick, served hot, crispy and, again, really well done. Our server, Ben, was a joy. He was beyond pleasant. He was chatty, like a friend, and attentive to our needs - quick with drink refills and to check how our food was. I am going to have to keep this place more in mind if/when I am in the area and looking for a non-chain restaurant to eat. One thing to be aware of... and the restaurant can feel free to correct me... but most, if not all, of the indoor dining is upstairs. If I recall correctly from visits years ago, a small elevator used to be available but I did not notice the elevator being there anymore. This may pose an issue for the elderly or others with mobility issues.
May 26, 2026 · Google ReviewWhat a wonderful place! The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and a great way to relax with family and friends. We loved the peel n’ eat shrimp, the burger, Philly cheesesteak and fried shrimp basket. Potato salad was so good as well. Such a nice atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.
Jan 5, 2026 · Google ReviewGreat rustic spot–character, views and "good bones." Right on the Weeki Wachee River. Indoor & outdoor, upstairs and downstairs seating. Relaxed atmosphere and free parking across the street. Ordered a few beers and the fish tacos (decent portions). Would recommend for a relaxed bite with ample natural lighting, fresh air and river views.
Feb 26, 2026 · Google ReviewService was slow and not with it. Food was subpar. My quesadilla had hardly no meat. My husband's scallops were tough . And my martini was weak. Overall I usually i would give a place a second try but not impressed with anything that would make me come back. And for the price it should of been better.
Apr 10, 2026 · Google ReviewVirgin pina coladas, alligator bites, lobster bisque were all great! Cod tacos were ok. The views and service were recommendable! You won't regret stopping at this scenic spot 🙂
