Inshore fishing is fantastic as large schools of red fish are roaming the outer points and islands. Work these fish on a mid-incoming tide and the first part of the outgoing tide for best action. Live baits are key right now. Live pin fish and pilchards rigged on a 2/0 circle hook and a 25-pound leader is my go-to rig; along with the reds we are catching snook and jacks.
Gag grouper will turn back on in September; I would start in 15 foot and work the rocks and ledges live pin fish and pilchards will get the job done. Spanish mackerel are also in good numbers in September you can find these guys in all depths of water live baits and white soft plastic baits work great.
