• October Fishing on Florida’s Adventure Coast

Ah…my favorite time of year: Fall!

October is an incredible month for fishing along Florida’s Adventure Coast. Absolutely everything from inshore game fish to offshore game fish are feeding heavy to get ready for the upcoming winter months.

Inshore, the speckled trout bite is very strong in two to four feet of water along grass flats and oyster bars. Live pilchards are my go-to bait right now. Red fish are grouped up in large schools of 20+ fish per school and ranging from 25-33 inches in length. Live pilchards are the best bait to use for red fish too.

Offshore, the gag grouper bite is off the hook! We are catching our limit of gags on just about every trip out. Along with the grouper, we are catching mangrove snappers, hog fish, Spanish mackerel and cobia on our offshore charters.

Now is the time to get on the water for non-stop rod bending action.
