The 46-mile Withlacoochee State Trail is one of the longest paved rail-trails in Florida. With a generally flat terrain and many access points, the trail corridor traverses three counties (Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco), offering an enjoyable, varied journey as it runs through small towns, ranches and six distinct natural communities between Citrus Springs and Dade City.

Officially designated as part of the Florida Greenways and Trail System, this state trail is also designated as a National Recreation Trail. It offers rich opportunities for viewing plants and wildlife and provides access to many outstanding recreational opportunities. The 42-mile Suncoast Trail parallels the Suncoast Parkway, passing through a mix of suburban, agricultural, and natural areas, along with rest areas and interpretive signs that highlight the trail’s significance and the local ecology.

Connecting the Withlacoochee State Trail to Brooksville, the Good Neighbor Trail runs ten miles, through sun-dappled and lush, shaded serene countryside to the Russell Street Park Trailhead.
