• Florida Greenways and Trails Month in Nature’s Place to Play

As temperatures gently dip, nudged by fresh fall breezes beneath dazzling blue skies, there’s no time better to celebrate room-to-roam riches and no place better than here, in Nature’s Place to Play. Lose the roadways and find joy exploring our wide open spaces and vast trail network.

Encompassing a third of the Florida’s Adventure Coast landscape are dozens of parks, preserves and forests laced with miles and miles of trails. Whatever mood you’re in or mobility mode you prefer, marked trails await. Paddle a coastal blueway. Walk in the woods. Pedal hilly, forested mountain bike single tracks or roll car-free on pavement.

For a gentle pace and quiet enjoyment, choose a walking trail. If high octane is more your speed, power through the Croom Motorcycle Area on an ATV Enduro tour.

Bring your bike and roll along our award-winning scenic paved trails. Make a turn from the 46-mile long Withlacoochee State Trail onto the newly-connected Good Neighbor Trail for a 10-mile ride into historic downtown Brooksville. While there, be sure to pick up a map of the new Florida Mermaid Trail. Winding through Brooksville, this small city stroll reveals 21 bronze mermaid statuettes, unique shops, eateries and historic murals along the way.

Florida’s Adventure Coast is the perfect place to safely get outdoors and surround yourself with fall freshness during Florida Greenways and Trails Month – or any month! Look for more ideas in our “Therefinder.” When you’re ready, Florida’s Adventure Coast is there for you.
