The summer break is almost over, but there is still time to enjoy fun and affordable adventure on Florida’s Adventure Coast, Brooksville-Weeki Wachee.
One of the most popular activities during the hot summer months is scalloping. It’s any easy way to stay cool while diving for your dinner. Scallop season runs from July 1 – September 24 and requires little in the way of gear or expertise. Many of our boat captains offer scalloping charters and will provide everything you will need.

Florida’s Adventure Coast is home to nearly 250,000 acres of seagrass beds that provide food and shelter to a variety of fish, scallops, and other marine life, making it a popular fishing destination for anglers of all ages and experience levels.
Paddling is one of the most popular outdoor activities on Florida’s Adventure Coast, and nowhere can you find a more beautiful setting. Although the pristine waters of the Weeki Wachee River are an obvious draw, our coastal paddling offers stunning views and a peaceful way to experience Florida’s natural coastline. If you’d like a little more speed more speed and a little less effort, book yourself an airboat tour and soar effortlessly over the water while enjoying the spectacular views of the Gulf of America. Captain Oz with Light Lines and Good Times will also whisk you and your friends to the best fishing holes via airboat, so you can catch that trophy fish you’ve been fantasizing about.

Load up your bicycles and explore some of the best biking trails in the state. Regardless of your level of expertise, Florida’s Adventure Coast offers paved trails that are safe and scenic. If you’re looking for a smooth ride, the Good Neighbor, Suncoast and Withlacoochee State Trails all offer wide, motor-free options. If your prefer a more adventurous ride, dirt and gravel trails set deep within forests and preserves are also plentiful. Nestled within the Withlacoochee State Forest is one of the most extensive and highest elevation, off-road trail systems in the region, with over 50 miles of single-track trails featuring natural limestone pits and rolling terrain, all lovingly maintained by SWAMP Mountain Bike Club volunteers.
