Scallop season on Florida’s Adventure Coast is going well. We need to put in some search effort, but we’re averaging five gallons of scallops on each trip, which is much better than last year. Six to seven feet seems to be the magic depth to find the scallops.
Some spots are producing better than others; we find that just means moving and searching around no further than a half mile from our starting point.
Fishing is great. We have a great red fish bite on the outer island and points. A good moving tide is producing the best action. Live pilchards are the best bait to use right now.
Snook are also mixed in with the red fish. And, the speckled trout bite is also picking back up for us on the grass flats.
