I gasped as I watched Natalie Joy Goff of NJoy Spirit’s Distillery pour a small amount of Wild Buck Whiskey on the palm of her hand and with both hands, she rubbed it into her skin, almost as if she was trying to moisturize them with lotion. It wasn’t necessarily the act of her pouring it into her hands that shocked me, because it’s the first time I’ve seen someone do this, it’s because a bottle is $60 and in my world that’s a lot of money.

Are mermaids only found in fantasies or do they exist? About an hour’s drive north of Tampa is the city of Weeki Wachee and home to Weeki Wachee Springs where mermaids gracefully perform and delight visitors.
Access to the Bayport-Linda Pedersen Paddling Trail is about to improve. Construction will begin today, September 18th, on a new kayak launch system at Linda Pedersen Park.
Florida Outdoor Writers Association explores the Adventure Coast
Wednesday, September 12, professional outdoor writers from throughout Florida came to the Adventure Coast for our annual conference. We came to experience the best of Hernando County, rebranded as the Adventure Coast in 2015, with an emphasis on the natural adventures that abound throughout the area.
For kitchen klutzes, dieters and health loyalists, relief is at hand under the sign: “The best meal of your day is right here. It will take 30 seconds.”
Weeki Wachee Mermaid Shows cancelled November 26, 2018 to March 15, 2019
Weeki Wachee Springs State Park is continuing its renovation process this fall. Phase one occurred back in July, with safety upgrades for the underwater performers. This required us to cancel the mermaid shows for two weeks.

Chinsegut Conservation Center October 2018 Programs
Chinsegut Conservation Center is open to the public from 8 AM until 2 PM Fridays and Saturdays and other times for scheduled programs or by appointment. Educators and organized groups can book programs year-round based on staff and volunteer availability.
